Split Airport to Makarska, door to door
Makarska is the main town on the riviera south of Split: a long pebble beach, a promenade full of cafés and the bare wall of Biokovo rising straight behind it. Most people get there along the coast road through Omiš.

The coast road in summer
The road along the riviera is narrow in places and slow in high season. Allow at least an hour and a half from Split on a summer weekend, and more from the airport.
