Split to Zagreb, with a day at Plitvice
Plitvice Lakes is the best-known national park in Croatia: sixteen lakes stepped down a valley, joined by waterfalls, with wooden boardwalks right over the water. It is a long way from the coast, but it sits near the road to Zagreb.
Going to Zagreb via Plitvice turns a long transfer into a day with a proper reason for it.
